Yellow Jacket Women Compete At Northwest Ohio Invite

FINDLAY, OHIO - The Defiance College women's track and field team traveled to Findlay to compete in the Northwest Ohio Invitational hosted by The University of Findlay. The meet was unscored.
Highlighting the running events, junior Danielle Robbins (Westland, Mich./Wayne Memorial) finished 19th in the 200-meter dash after running a time of 29.17 seconds. Freshman Malia Ferry (Milford) competed in the 400-meter dash and placed 19th overall with a time of 1:09.89.
In the 800-meter run, junior Aaron Textor (Swanton) finished 20th, running a time of 2:59.35.
In field events, the women had four athletes finish in the top-20 in the shot put. Leading the way was senior Katie Tilman (Miami Springs, Fla./Immaculata-La Salle) who took 12th place with a throw of 36' 06.75". Senior teammate Alexis Walker (Fort Myers, Fla./Fort Myers) fihished 15th and had a toss of 35' 09.25". Following behind Walker was junior Cassidy Santen (Woodridge, Ill./Downers Grove North) in 16th place with a distance of 35' 00.50". Junior Brooke Waidelich (Pettisville) rounded out the top distances with a 19th-place finish with a toss of 33' 00.25".
In the weight throw, Defiance also had four Jackets finish in the top-20 led by Walker who posted a mark of 44' 11.50" to finish in 15th place. Just behind Walker was Waidelich who had a mark of 44' 02.75" to finish in 16th place. Santen placed two spots back of Waidelich in 18th place following a toss of 40' 06.75" and junior Hannah Williams (Swanton) was 20th with a toss of 38' 00.00".
The women will travel to Tiffin, Ohio on Saturday, Jan. 21 to compete in the Tiffin University Invitational. The time is still to yet to be determined.
