Women Compete at Tiffin Invitational
TIFFIN, OHIO- The women's track and field team began its 2016-17 season at the unscored Tiffin Invitational in Tiffin, Ohio.
TIFFIN, OHIO- The women's track and field team began its 2016-17 season at the unscored Tiffin Invitational in Tiffin, Ohio.
Posting the top overall finishes in the running events included freshman Malia Ferry (Milford) who placed sixth in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:40.46.
Junior Danielle Robbins (Westland, Mich./Wayne Memorial) finished 15th in the women's 200-meter race crossing the line with a time of 29.72 seconds.
In field events, junior Cassidy Santen/Woodridge, Ill./Downers Grove North) finished 10th in the women's shot put with a throw of 36' 8.50". Senior Katie Tilman (Miami Springs, Fla./Immacuata- La Salle) also competed in the event and finished just behind Santen with a distance of 36' 5.50" and finished 11th overall.
In the weight throw, senior Alexis Walker finished 10th with a throw of 45' 7.00". Junior Brooke Waidelich (Pettisville) finished 12th with a throw of 43' 6.00" and fellow junior Hannah Williams (Fort Meyers, Fla./Fort Meyers) finished 15th with a throw of 41' 6.00". In addition, freshman Madi Bowma (Eaton) also placed in the top-20 with a mark of 37' 0.00" to place 17th overall.
The women's track and field team will next compete in the Northwest Ohio Invitational hosted by the University of Findlay on Friday, Jan. 13. The meet is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
