Defiance Sends Three Throwers To Hillsdale (Mich.)
HILLSDALE, MICH. – The Defiance College track and field team sent three Yellow Jacket throwers to compete at Hillsdale (Mich.) College in the Hillsdale Classic and valiant efforts were shown.
HILLSDALE, MICH. – The Defiance College track and field team sent three Yellow Jacket throwers to compete at Hillsdale (Mich.) College in the Hillsdale Classic and valiant efforts were shown.
Senior Jacob Rodriguez (Ligonier, Ind. /West Noble) was the only male competitor for the Yellow Jackets and finished sixth in the hammer throw, after tossing the hammer 150' 2" on his fourth attempt.
After earning the title of Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Champion in discus at her last meet, freshman Hannah Williams (Swanton) threw a personal best of 126' 2" which put her in third in her flight, but just short of moving on to the final round.
Rounding out the competitors for the Purple and Gold was freshmen Brooke Waidelich (Pettisville) who sailed the discus 107' 3", also missing the mark for finals, but was good for a fifth place finish in her flight.
