Anderson Competes at ONU Last Chance Meet
ADA, OHIO -- Freshman Leah Anderson (Hicksville) was the lone Defiance College competitor at the Polar Bear Last Chance Meet hosted by Ohio Northern University in Ada.
ADA, OHIO -- Freshman Leah Anderson (Hicksville) was the lone Defiance College competitor at the Polar Bear Last Chance Meet hosted by Ohio Northern University in Ada. Anderson looked to qualify for the NCAA Division III National Indoor Meet in the Pentathlon.
Anderson began the pentathlon event with the 60-meter hurdles and placed 11th with a time of 10.72 seconds. In the second event, the high jump, Anderson cleared the bar at a heighth of 4' 1.25" and followed that up with a throw of 21' 6.00" in the shot put. In the final two events of the pentathlon, she leaped a distance of 14' 10.50" in the long jump to place eighth overall and ran a time of 2:44.83 in the 800-meter run which was the sixth fastest time amongst the competitors.
Anderson finished the pentathlon with a total of 2,203 points and was 11th overall in the final standings.
The Yellow Jacket indoor track & field teams will await the announcement of the field for the 2015 NCAA Division III National Meet which should be announced on Monday (Mar. 9).
