Wilson Freshman of the Year, nine athletes All-HCAC
GREENWOOD, Ind. – After capturing the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Outdoor Championship, nine athletes from the Defiance College Women's Track and Field team have received All-HCAC recognition.

To be named to first team you must win the event. To be named to second team, you must have finished runner up in the event. DC had four First-Teamers and four Second-Teamers.
The first team athletes are; Micah Wilson (Mims, Fla. / Astronaut) for the 100-meter dash and the 200-meter dash, Eme Miller (Portland, Ind. / Jay County) for the 3,000-meter steeplechase, Margaret Sarfino (Dayton, Ohio / Kettering Fairmont) for triple jump, and Kali George (East Palestine, Ohio / East Palestine) for the javelin throw and the 400-meter dash.
On second team is; Kim Bingley (Ottawa, Ohio / Ottawa-Glandorf) for 4x400-meter relay, javelin throw and 400-meter hurdles, Sam Cook (Raiford, Fla. / Bradford County) for discus throw and shot put, Waverly Weaks (Liberty Center, Ohio / Liberty Center) for the 4x100-meter relay and Bree Anderson (Huntertown, Ind. / Carroll) for 4x100-meter relay.
Jessie Bell (West Salem, Ohio / Northwestern) was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team.
Wilson was also named HCAC Freshman of the Year for her spectacular meet that included two wins and two runner-up finishes.
Head Coach John Hartpence was named HCAC Coach of the Year for leading the Lady Yellow Jackets to the HCAC Outdoor Title.
