Bingley, Lime Highlight DC Lady Jacket All-HCAC Honors
GREENVILLE, Ind. – After a strong outing at the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships, the DC women’s track and field team has placed four of its members on the All-HCAC list.

For Bingley, the Ottawa, Ohio, native concluded her weekend as the top overall point's scorer at the competition with 34.5. She competed in a total of five individual events, along with one team event and finished in the top-five of each. Her best finish came in the Javelin, where she sealed her first-team honors with a toss of 33.82 meters that gave her the event title for the second time in her career. Bingley's other excellent outings included second in the long jump (5.22 m), third in the 100-meter hurdles (15.58), and fourth in the 400 hurdles (1:06.35) and shot put (11.20 m). This was the junior's second time she has made the All-HCAC First-Team.
Also earning First-Team All-HCAC honors was Lime. The sophomore hurdler used all of her focus on the two events of 100 and 400-meter hurdles and provided a great showing. Lime grabbed first in the 100h with a 15.09 mark and then clocked in a time of 1:05.72 for fourth place in the 400h. This was the first time in the Defiance High products young career that she has made the team.
Making the All-HCAC Second-Team were junior Kali George and senior Katie Heitkamp. George didn't earn any titles at the competition, but was one of the top overall performers, as she accumulated 32.5 total points to finish second right behind Bingley. The East Palestine, Ohio native's best showings included a second-place finish in the javelin (33.11 m) and third in each of the 400-meter dash (1:00.86) and high jump (1.62 m). George also placed in the top-six for the long jump, triple jump, and 200. This was the third time in a row that she has scored over 30 points at the championships.
Finally, Heitkamp rounded out the quartet. This was the senior's second time making the All-HCAC Second-Team. Her height of 3.05 meters in the pole vault secured second place for the Memorial High product. Heitkamp was also able to earn points for DC with a fifth-place finish in the 400 (1:02.76).
On a side note, all four of the all-conference honors competed together in the 4x400-meter relay event and recorded a new Purple and Gold record with a third-place time of 4:05.66.
Making the All-Sportsmanship Team for Defiance College was sophomore Kelsey Bowling who is a jumper and competes in the pole vault. This was her first time being honored with the selection.
The Yellow Jackets track and field team will continue on with their season at the Hillsdale Classic on Wednesday, May 8. Action at the meet is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
