Women’s Track and Field Achieves All-Academic Status
NEW ORLEANS – The Defiance College women’s track and field team was recognized by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association with All-Academic status as a result of posting a team grade-point-average of 3.27.
NEW ORLEANS – The Defiance College women's track and field team was recognized by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association with All-Academic status as a result of posting a team grade-point-average of 3.27. This marks the fourth-straight year that the Yellow Jackets have received All-Academic honors.
To qualify for the distinction a team must possess a grade point average of 3.10 or better. A total of 137 teams across the country were awarded the honor, with DC being one of three teams representing the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference.
The award caps a successful season by the program. The women's outdoor team had eight members honored as Academic All-HCAC, a top-10 finisher at the NCAA Championships, two Honorable Mention All-HCAC recipients and a USTFCCCA All-Academic honoree.
