Women's Tennis Wins Spring Break Opener
Hilton Head, S.C. - The Defiance College women's tennis team began their spring break action on Tuesday with a matchup against Sweet Briar College. The Yellow Jackets came away with a dominant 6-3 victory over the Vixens.
Hilton Head, S.C. - The Defiance College women's tennis team began their spring break action on Tuesday with a matchup against Sweet Briar College. The Yellow Jackets came away with a dominant 6-3 victory over the Vixens.
DC was off to a quick start with a sweep of doubles action. Cayla Walker (Archbold/Archbold) and A.J. Breneman (Bryan/Bryan) grabbed an exciting 8-6 win in number one singles. Sydney Huston (Indianapolis, Ind./Lawrence) and Alexa St. Julian (Oregon/Clay) won 8-4, while Rylea Amspaugh (Nashport/Lakewood) and Aleah Blanchard won by an 8-3 scoreline.
In singles action Walker picked up another victory with a 6-1, 6-1 decision. Amspaugh grabbed a number four singles win 6-3, 6-4. Alexa St. Julian followed up with the last win of the day, a 6-2, 6-1 victory in number five singles.
The Yellow Jackets return to action March 6 as they take on Roanoke in their penultimate spring break match.
