Women's Tennis falls to Manchester in midweek contest
MANCHESTER, Ind. - The Defiance College women’s tennis team took to the road for a midweek contest Wednesday afternoon at Manchester University. The Yellow Jackets were defeated 9-0 in the match.

The Purple and Gold was unable to match Manchester in doubles, falling 3-0. Maria Weber and Savannah Marquez were the top pairing, winning four games in doubles match two. Haley Kuhlman and Kayla Miller also picked up a game in their doubles match.
Marquez had the best day for DC in singles play, winning five games in her two-set match. After falling 6-1 in the first set, Marquez put up a tough fight in the second set, falling 6-4.
Weber was the only other Yellow Jacket to pick up multiple games in her individual match. Nicole Tank and Kuhlman each won a game in their individual matches.
The loss places Defiance's record at 0-2 to begin the young season. The Lady Yellow Jackets have another quick turnaround and are back in action on Saturday, Sept. 21 when they hit the road again, traveling to Franklin for a 10 a.m. match.
