INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Defiance women' s tennis team wrapped up its 2009 campaign on Saturday, placing eighth in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Individual Championships. The Jackets were edged out by Manchester College by just two points for seventh place.
Chelsea French and Sammi Stevens were competitive in No. 1 doubles action, recording two points before dropping the set to the Franklin College duo of Bright and Schafer. The event marks the final match for senior Chelsea French. The Oregon, Ohio native was one of the team's top performers and will be sorely missed.
