Women’s soccer team earns 2019-20 academic award from United Soccer Coaches
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The United Soccer Coaches recently announced its Team Academic Award winners for 2019-20 with the Defiance College women’s soccer squad earning a spot on the list. Last year, Defiance posted an impressive 3.71 grade-point average, which is much higher than any other women’s or men’s soccer program in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Last year, Defiance posted an impressive 3.71 grade-point average, which is much higher than any other women's or men's soccer program in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference.
To receive a USC Team Academic Award, all members of the squad must combine for a minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) over the entire school year. Founded in 1941, the USC is the world's largest soccer coaches' organization that serves members at every level of the game.
A total of 914 college programs were recognized for their academic achievements, including 569 women's teams and 345 men's. On the women's side, the Yellow Jackets were one of just three HCAC squads to be recognized.
DC, under the direction of head coach BJ Pheasant, is scheduled to begin its upcoming season on March 3, 2021 at conference rival Bluffton University.
