Women’s Soccer Picks Up a 4-0 Victory at Home
DEFIANCE, OHIO- The Defiance College women’s soccer team took on Penn State Beaver Sunday afternoon at Winsper-Knobel Memorial Field. The Yellow Jackets defeated the Nittany Lions with a final score of 4-0.

The Purple and Gold jumped out to an early lead in the first half as senior Lauren Perry (Northwood, Ohio. / Lake) scored her fourth career goal just eight minutes into play.
The Yellow Jackets struck again in the first half as senior Kat Wicher (Toledo, Ohio. / Whitmer) connected with freshman Brianna Snider (Lima, Ohio. / Shawnee) for the second goal of the match. Going into the half Defiance lead 2-0 over Penn State Beaver.
Early in the second half, the Yellow Jackets struck yet again has senior Katie Settich (Huber Heights, Ohio. / Chaminade Julienne) scored by an assist from sophomore Natalee Shingler (Huntingdon, Pa. / Huntingdon Area). Settich recorded six shots on the day scoring her first goal of the 2019 season.
The final goal of the day came late in the second half as freshman Ally Enneking (Cincinnati, Ohio / Roger Bacon) found the top corner of the net scoring from outside the box. Enneking took six shots, five of which being on goal; she tallies her second career goal for the Yellow Jackets.
The win over Penn State Beaver is the first back-to-back wins for the Yellow Jackets since 2014 and pushes their to 2-1-1 on the season.
The Purple and Gold will hit the road for their next contest to take on St. Mary's College on Tuesday, September 10, for a 7:00 pm kickoff.
