TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Defiance College women's soccer team fell 3-0 at Rose-Hulman on Saturday afternoon in Terre Haute, Indiana.
Defiance (1-10, 0-4 HCAC) got off a shot early as Kassie Memmer attempted to connect with 10:39 in the first period but an Engineer save would keep the score 0-0. Eight minutes later Memmer attacked for a second shot on goal, to receive the same fate. Rose-Hulman went on to retaliate, notching two consecutive goals within four minutes, giving them a 2-0 lead.
In the 56th-minute, the Engineers added to their advantage before ending the contest with six more shots, to finish the match with a 3-0 win.
The Engineers outshot the Jackets 16-5. Memmer had the only two shots on goal in the game to lead DC. Madi Bowman held down Defiance's net, finishing the game with eight saves on 11 shots on goal.
The Yellow Jackets look to bounce back on Wednesday, October 18 as they host Manchester University at the Winsper-Knobel Memorial Field. Kick-off is set for 3:30 PM.
