Women’s golf returns to the course with trip to Nashville
JOELTON, Tenn. – The Defiance College women's golf team returned to the links for the two-day Music City Shootout at Nashville National Golf Links. Over the course of Saturday and Sunday, the Yellow Jackets shot 758 as a team to finish seventh out of nine squads. Otterbein won the tournament with a team score of 626 and swept the top three spots for the tournament. Complete tournament results can be viewed by clicking here.
Isabelle Vance had the lowest two-day score for Defiance when she turned in a 186 with a 92 on Saturday and 94 on Sunday at the 71-par facility. Her Saturday 92 matched Cassady Van Dyke for the team's low round of the weekend.
Van Dyke finished with a 188 weekend followed by Mari Najar at 190 on twin 95s for the tournament. Winter Boroff shot two rounds of 97 and Taylor Greilich improved on a Saturday 108 with 101 on Sunday.
The low score for the tournament was a 5-over 76 by Rachel Hatley from Otterbein and Ohio Northern's Marisa Alfes, both on Saturday. Otterbein's Becky Williams shot a 6-over 77 both days to beat her teammate Hatley for the top spot of the weekend.
The Jacket women head out to Terre Haute on March 10-11 for their only March tournament leading up to a busy April.
