Mercer named HCAC Golfer of the Week

Defiance senior Shelby Mercer has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Golf Athlete of the Week as announced by the conference on Tuesday afternoon.

Mercer is the first Yellow Jacket to earn the conference's Women Golfer of the Week award and the first Defiance golfer to earn Athlete of the Week since Federico Gutierrez earned the men's award in April 2019.

Mercer finished her Defiance career on a high note by earning first place and medalist honors at the Anderson Duals shooting a season-best 83.
