Women’s golf picked to finish ninth in Spring 2021 HCAC preseason poll
CARMEL, Ind. – Heading into its upcoming spring season, the Defiance College women’s golf team is picked to finish ninth among the 10 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference squads, according to the Spring 2021 HCAC Women’s Golf Preseason Poll. The poll was comprised in a vote of the conference’s head coaches and released by the HCAC office on Tuesday.

The poll was comprised in a vote of the conference's head coaches and released by the HCAC office on Tuesday.
Defiance, under head coach Allen Curtiss, finished with 19 points in the poll, 11 ahead of Anderson University. Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology received 79 points to claim the top spot and is followed by Transylvania University (71), Franklin College (54), Hanover College (54), Mount St. Joseph University (48), Manchester University (47), Bluffton University (36) and Earlham College (24).
The Yellow Jackets also had one player named to the 2021 HCAC Athletes to Watch list in junior Shelby Mercer (Canton, Ohio/GlenOak).
DC is scheduled to open its spring season on Saturday, March 27 at the Miami Whitewater Classic hosted by Mount St. Joseph. The two-day tournament is to be held at Miami Whitewater Forest Golf Course in Harrison, Ohio.
