Women's Golf Post Strong Performance at the Defiance Invitational

DEFIANCE, Ohio - The Defiance College women's golf team recorded a strong performance in its home contest at Auglaize Country Club on Sunday afternoon.

The Purple and Gold competed as individuals in the tournament with two Yellow Jackets tying for medalist honors. Senior Kristin Aslanian (Trenton, Mich.) and freshman Brittany Rinehart (Mannington, W. Va./North Marion) tied for first place with a team-best 85 strokes. 

Freshman Cassidy Yant (Churubusco, Ind.) rounded out the scoring for DC with a career-best score of 108. 

The University of Northwest Ohio won the team title with a combined score of 369 strokes, followed by North Central College in second with a team total of 377. 

Defiance returns to action Wednesday, April 11 at Lourdes College.
