Yellow Jackets Finish Sixth at HCAC Championships
TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- The Defiance College women's golf team placed sixth following the final day of competiition at the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship hosted by Rose-Hulman (Ind.) Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Ind.
TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- The Defiance College women's golf team placed sixth following the final day of competiition at the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship hosted by Rose-Hulman (Ind.) Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Ind.
Defiance finished with a team score of 837 strokes (433+404=837) to place sixth of seven teams. Hanover (Ind.) College earned the team championship with a two-day total of 693 strokes (347+346=693). Host school Rose-Hulman was second at 705 strokes (357+348=705) and Franklin (Ind.) College was third with 707 strokes (352+355=707).
Junior Kristin Aslanian (Trenton, Mich./Trenton) led the Yellow Jackets with a score of 184 total strokes (96+88=184) and finished in 17th overall individually. Sophomore Allison Barron (Ypsilanti, Mich./Heritage) was second with 209 strokes (110+99=209).
Senior Mallory Galloway (Marion/Ridgedale) carded the third lowest total for DC at 213 strokes (106+107=213). Freshman Megan McGinnis (Bloomville/Buckeye Central) rounded out the DC competitors with a tournament-total 231 strokes (121+110=231).
Following the tournament, Aslanian was selected to the HCAC All-Sportsmanship Team.
DC ends the 2016 season with the HCAC Championshps.
