Yellow Jackets Finish Fifth at Manchester Invite
WABASH, IND. -- The Defiance College women's golf team shot a combined team score of 450 strokes to place fifth at the Manchester (Ind.) University Fall Invitational at Honeywell Golf Course in Wabash, Ind.
WABASH, IND. -- The Defiance College women's golf team shot a combined team score of 450 strokes to place fifth at the Manchester (Ind.) University Fall Invitational at Honeywell Golf Course in Wabash, Ind.
Trine (Ind.) University won the event with a team-total of 339 strokes. Host school Manchester was second with 372 strokes and Grace (Ind.) College was third with 393 strokes.
Sophomore Kristin Aslanian (Trenton, Mich./Trenton) led the Yellow Jackets with an 18-hole score of 94 strokes and placed in a tie for 11th overall out of 38 competitors. Freshman Allison Barron (Ypsilanti, Mich./Heritage) was second with 97 strokes and junior Mallory Galloway (Marion/Ridgedale) carded a round of 115 strokes to finish third on the team. Senior Katie Patchin (Farmington/Bristol Local) was fourth with a tournament total 144 strokes.
Defiance will play in its final event before the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament when the Yellow Jackets host the Defiance Fall Invitational next Sunday, Sept. 27 at Eagle Rock Golf Club. The invitational is scheduled to begin at noon.
