DC Women's Golf Places 13th at Kyle Campbell Classic
MARSHALL, MICH. -- The Defiance College women's golf team placed 13th after the final round of the Kyle Campbell Classic hosted by Olivet (Mich.) College at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall, Mich.
MARSHALL, MICH. -- The Defiance College women's golf team placed 13th after the final round of the Kyle Campbell Classic hosted by Olivet (Mich.) College at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall, Mich.
The Yellow Jackets finished with a combined score of 894 strokes (446+448=894) to place 13th of 13 teams. Hope (Mich.) College came in first with a tournament-total of 667 strokes (328+339=667). Host school Olivet was second at 676 strokes (339+337=676) and North Central (Ill.) College rounded out the top three teams with 685 strokes (340+345=685).
Defiance was led by sophomore Kristin Aslanian (Trenton, Mich./Trenton) who ended the two-day event with a total of 192 strokes (98+94=192) and placed in a tie for 48th overall. Freshman Allison Barron (Ypsilanti, Mich./Heritage) improved by nine strokes on her final round to post the second lowest score for the Jackets of 205 strokes (107+98=205). Junior Mallory Galloway (Marion/Ridgedale) came in with a two-day total 218 strokes (108+110=218) and sophomore Allison Behrendt (North Olmsted) rounded out the DC competitors with 279 strokes (133+146=279).
DC will continue its season at the one-day Manchester (Ind.) University Invitational next Saturday, Sept. 19 in Wabash, Ind. The round is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
