Defiance Competes at Franklin (Ind.) Invite

FRANKlIN, IND. -- The Defiance College women's golf team competed at the final event before heading into Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament play with the single-round Franklin (Ind.) University Lady Grizzly Fall Invitational at The Legends Golf Club in Franklin, Ind.
The Yellow Jackets ended the one-day event with a team score of 419 strokes to place fifth of five teams. Rose-Hulman (Ind.) Institute of Technology won the event with a team score of 335 strokes and Hanover (Ind.) College was second at 342 strokes. Host school Franklin rounded out the top three teams with a total of 343 strokes.
Freshman Kristin Aslanian (Trenton, Mich./Trenton) posted the top score for the team with a round of 100 strokes and placed in a tie for 38th overall. Freshman Taylor Carr (Wayne/Elmwood) carded an 106 and tied teammate senior Kayla Uscilowski for the second-lowest score for the squad. Sophomore Mallory Galloway (Marion/Ridgedale) was the final Yellow Jacket to compete in the event and shot a round of 107 strokes.
DC will travel to Wabash, Ind. for the two-day HCAC Tournament hosted by Manchester (Ind.) University next weekend, Saturday-Sunday, Oct. 11-12. The first round is set to begin on Saturday at 10 a.m at Honeywell Golf Course.
