Defiance Women's Golf Competes in Spiess Memorial Tournament
DEFIANCE, OHIO -- The Defiance College women's golf team hosted the one-day Jon P. Spiess Memorial Tournament at Eagle Rock Golf Club and placed seventh overall.
DEFIANCE, OHIO -- The Defiance College women's golf team hosted the one-day Jon P. Spiess Memorial Tournament at Eagle Rock Golf Club and placed seventh overall.
The Yellow Jackets recorded a team-total of 438 strokes to place seventh of seven teams. NCAA Division I Bowling Green State University won the event with an overall score of 319 strokes. Siena Heights University "A" team placed second at 358 strokes and its "B" team rounded out the top three scores with 366 strokes.
Individually for DC, freshman Kristin Aslanian (Trenton, Mich./Trenton) shot the lowest 18-hole score at 102 strokes and placed 29th overall. Freshman Taylor Carr (Wayne/Elmwood) and sophomore Mallory Galloway (Marion/Ridgedale) finished back-to-back with scores of 110 and 111 strokes respectively. The final Jacket to compete was senior Kayla Uscilowski (Maumee) who ended the day with a score of 115 strokes.
DC will next compete in the one-day University of Northwestern Ohio Invitational on Tuesday, Sept. 16 in Lima. The round is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. at the Hawthorne Hills Golf Course.
