Women's Golf Finishes Fifth at Anderson Invitational
ANDERSON, IND. -- The Defiance College women's golf team opened its 2014 fall schedule by finishing fifth at the two-day Anderson (Ind.) University Fall Invitational held at Killbuck Golf Course in Anderson, Ind.
ANDERSON, IND. -- The Defiance College women's golf team opened its 2014 fall schedule by finishing fifth at the two-day Anderson (Ind.) University Fall Invitational held at Killbuck Golf Course in Anderson, Ind.
The Yellow Jackets finished with a two-day team toal of 785 strokes (392+393=785) and were led by the duo of freshman Taylor Carr (Wayne/Elmwood) and Freshman Kristin Aslanian who both ended the event with 190 strokes. Senior Kayla Uscilowski (Maumee) carded the third-lowest score for the team of 191 strokes (100+91=191) and sophomore Mallory Galloway (Marion/Ridgedale) rounded out the Defiance competitors with 214 strokes (109+105=214).
Hanover (Ind.) College captured the overall team title with a total score of 623 strokes (311+312=623). DePauw (Ind.) University fell one stroke shy of Hanover and placed second overall at 624 strokes (316+308=624) and Rose-Hulman (Ind.) Institute of Technology rounded out the top-three teams with 661 strokes (324+337=661).
Defiance will next compete in the Hanover Invitational next Saturday-Sunday, Sept. 6-7. The first round will be played at Sunrise Golf Course in Madison, Ind. and the final round will take place at Shadowood Golf Course in Seymour, Ind. on Sunday.
