DC Women's Golf takes 9th in Jon Spiess Memorial Tournament
WAUSEON, Ohio - The Defiance College Women's Golf team competed in the annual Jon Spiess Memorial Tournament Tuesday afternoon, taking ninth place in the one-day event, combining for a score of 394.

Two Yellow Jackets shot career bests rounds at Ironwood Golf Course. Mallory Galloway posted a score of 92 and Nicole Baseley finished in 113 strokes, both season and personal bests.
Galloway's previous best came in the second round of the Anderson Invitational to start the year, shooting a 93 in that event. Her round Tuesday was highlighted with a pair of pars and a birdie on the par-3 sixth hole to shoot a team best 44 on the front nine.
Baseley continued to drop her scores in the event. In every round this season, the sophomore has dropped her score total and the streak continued today, shooting three strokes better than her last outing, round two at the Hanover Invitational.
Sarah Westfall led the way for the Yellow Jackets for the third time this season. The senior posted an 88 to take her best finish of the season, coming in 13th place. Westfall turned in eight pars in the event, including three in a row on the front nine. She turned in a team best 42 on the back nine to come in with an 88.
Kayla Uscilowski missed a season best on the year by two stroke in the event, but finished with a score of 101. The junior posted 9-hole scores of 51 and 50.
The Yellow Jackets will return to action Saturday at the Manchester Invitational in Wabash, Ind. The tournament starts at 9 a.m.
