Jackets Take Third at Heidelberg Invitational
TIFFIN, Ohio – The Defiance College women’s golf team notched a third-place finish at the two-day Heidelberg Invitational. The Jackets shot a 404 on Saturday, before wrapping up the tournament with a 409 on Sunday afternoon.

Ohio Northern claimed the team championship with a 681, while Baldwin-Wallace (795), Defiance (813) and Heidelberg (818) rounded out the field. Kristine Khowcharoen of Hiram competed as an individual and led all players with a 158, while ONU took the next five spots in the individual standings.
DC's Tara Miller paced the Jackets with a 192 and ended in ninth position, with Phoenix Golnick taking 11th after carding a 205. Brittany Gow and Kelly Beard tied for 13th with a 208 and Taylor Tuttle shot a 227 to finish in 20th.
Defiance will take the next two weeks to prepare for the HCAC Championships in Lexington, Ky., hosted by Transylvania. The two-day event will begin on October 10.
