Women's Golf Continues Fall Season at Manchester Invite
WABASH, Ind. – The Defiance College women’s golf team shot a 446 on Saturday in the single-round Manchester Invitational hosted by the Honeywell Golf Course.
WABASH, Ind. – The Defiance College women's golf team shot a 446 on Saturday in the single-round Manchester Invitational hosted by the Honeywell Golf Course. That score put the Jackets in ninth but just 12 strokes out of a sixth-place finish.
Tara Miller led the way once again with a 104 and a finish of 30th on the individual standings. Brittany Gow shot a 111, Kelly Beard ended with a 115, Taylor Tuttle carded a 116 and Phoenix Golnick turned in a 120 for the Jackets.
Melanie Day (81), Katie Powell (82) and Jennifer Hudock (82) turned in the top three individual scores of the tournament for Bethel, as the Pilots took the team championship with a 329.
Hope's 'B' team finished second with a 346 and Manchester rounded out the top three with a 372. The rest of the standings were filled out by Franklin's 'B' team (402), Anderson (411), Franklin's "C" team (434), Mount St. Joseph (443), IU-East (445) and Defiance (446).
Defiance will hit the links again in two days, when it hosts the DC Invitational at the Kettenring Country Club on Monday at 1:00 pm.
