Defiance Takes Eighth at Hanover Invitational
HANOVER, Ind. – Defiance College finished its two-day stay in the Hanover Invitational on Sunday with an eighth-place finish and a final score of 806.
HANOVER, Ind. – Defiance College finished its two-day stay in the Hanover Invitational on Sunday with an eighth-place finish and a final score of 806. DC fired a team score of 391 on Saturday, before shooting a 415 on Sunday.
Tara Miller led the Yellow Jackets by carding a 192 and finishing in 33rd place. Phoenix Golnick was next in the standings for DC with a 196 and a 36th-place finish, while Brittany Gow shot a 202, Kelly Beard turned in a 222 and Taylor Tuttle ended with a 232 in the nine-team, 54-competitor event.
The individual championship went to Marian's Angela Gauck, with her final score of 149. Transylvania's Megan Foley turned in the best finish from a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference competitor and took second place with a 154.
Defiance will host the Jon Spiess Memorial on Tuesday, September 15 in Wauseon, Ohio. The single-round event will be held at the Ironwood Golf Course beginning at 10:30 am.
