Miller Leads Lady Jackets at Manchester Invitational
N. MANCHESTER, Ind. – Defiance College hit the links on Saturday to play in the eight-team Manchester Invitational. The single-round tournament was the final event for the Jackets prior to wrapping up their campaign in the HCAC Championships on Oct. 11 and 12.

Bethel took home the team championship by two strokes, edging Hope and St. Mary's with a 339. Hope's junior varsity squad finished fourth with a 347 and St. Joseph's took fifth with a 364. The team standings were rounded out by Manchester (368), Anderson (381) and Defiance (426).
The individual medalist honors went to Bethel's Jessica Layman, after she carded a 77 to top the leader board by one shot over Hope's Megan Scholten and Lauren Zandra and St. Joseph's Maggie Hobbs.
Tara Miller led DC at the event with a 103 and was followed closely by Cali Deeter's 104. Danielle Ary shot a 109, Brittany Gow ended with a 110 and Tracy Sauter rounded out the scoring with a 113.
DC will close out its fall season on Oct. 11 and 12 in Terre Haute, Ind., when it competes in the HCAC Championships hosted by Rose-Hulman.
