Women's Golf Hosts Jon Speiss Memorial Tournament
WAUSEON, Ohio – The Defiance College women’s golf team hosted a three-team tournament on Tuesday afternoon. The Lady Jackets finished in third place behind Northwestern Ohio and Findlay in the team standings.
WAUSEON, Ohio – The Defiance College women's golf team hosted a three-team tournament on Tuesday afternoon. The Lady Jackets finished in third place behind Northwestern Ohio and Findlay in the team standings.
The team championship was tightly contested between UNWO and Findlay, with the Racers pulling out the win with a 356, two strokes better than Findlay's 358. Defiance ended with a 413.
Christy Brinkman of Northwestern Ohio claimed medalist honors with an 82 and her teammate Erin Winings took second with an 83.
Danielle Ary led Defiance on the course with a 97 and a 12th-place finish. Ary was followed by Tara Miller (100) and Cali Jo Deeter (102) as DC's top three on the afternoon.
The Jackets will be back on the links on Monday, Sep. 22 at 1:00 pm, when they host the DC Fall Invitational at 1:00 pm. The event will be held at Kettenring Country Club.
