Softball sweeps Wilmington in non-conference road contest
The Defiance softball team swept Wilmington in a non-conference road doubleheader on Sunday afternoon. The Yellow Jackets battled back to win Game 1, 10-9, and took Game 2 in a shutout, 4-0.

- Senior Taylor Biggs started in the circle for the Yellow Jackets and pitched the first 4.2 innings. She allowed eight runs off 11 hits.
- Freshman Anika Craft came in for relief and pitched the last 2.1 innings to earn the win.
- Senior Kalin Hubble led Defiance at the plate with three hits and three RBIs. She launded one homerun and two doubles.

- Senior Hali Geraci led the Yellow Jackets at the plate with two hits.
- Roberts grabbed one hit and two RBIs.
- Hubble launched another homerun during the contest.
- Sophomore Brooke Silcox, senior Sophie Moller, freshman Amber Krause, and sophomore Laney Grimwood each chipped in one hit.
- Alexis Stringfellow pitched the first four innings and allowed four runs off five hits.
- Hayley Suchland and Logann Julian each earned a hit for Wilmington.

- Defiance grabbed the first runs of the game off a two-RBI double from Roberts and took a 2-0 lead.
- The Yellow Jackets earned two more runs in the fifth off a solo shot from Hubble and freshman Kelly Limbaugh stealing home to make the final score 4-0.
