Hubble named HCAC Hitter of the Week
Defiance College junior Kalin Hubble was named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week for Softball on Monday afternoon.
CARMEL, Ind. – Defiance College junior Kalin Hubble was named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week for Softball on Monday afternoon.
Hubble batted .679 (19 for 28) with four home runs, five doubles, one triple, 16 RBIs, and 17 runs scored in last week's eight games. She put together a 1.357 slugging percentage and .727 on-base percentage, while earning 5 walks.
The junior leads the conference in home runs (9), runs batted in (45), and slugging percentage (.794). She also is ranked second in the HCAC leaderboard for runs scored (35), hits (55), and at-bats (126). She rounds out the conference standings being ranked fourth with a .437 batting average.
Hubble had a record-breaking week, as she now holds the career record at Defiance College for all-time home runs with 21 total homers. She also broke the program's single-season record for doubles with 16 and RBIs with 45 this season.
Defiance is currently scheduled to finish out the 2021 regular season with a doubleheader against Mt. St. Joseph on Sunday, May 9, as they await the results for the HCAC Tournament seedings.
