Yellow Jackets Come Up Just Short in Final Day of Rebel Games
ORLANDO – The Yellow Jackets’ softball team ended its stay in Florida with two tough losses at the Rebel Games. Defiance lost to Springfield in game one by a score of 2-0 and came up just short in the second game, losing 1-0 to Montclair State.

The Purple and Gold received great pitching performances in both games; however DC could not get any run support.
Against Springfield, the Jackets only allowed two runs on four hits. Unfortunately, Defiance was only able to record two hits in the game. DC was unable to score and went on to lose 2-0.
In game two against Montclair State, freshman Lauren Dicke had an excellent start for the second straight day. Dicke threw a complete game for the second straight outing, only allowing one run on four hits.
Despite Dicke's effort, the offense was only able to muster three hits, two of which came from Dicke. The other hit against Montclair State came from senior outfielder Katelyn Samples.
The Jackets' are next in action on Sunday, March 18 at Albion for a doubleheader. The first game is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
