Men and Women teams recognized in All-Sports Standings
GREENWOOD, Ind. – With the conclusion of spring sports, the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference has released the 2013-14 All-Sports Standings. The DC men finished in fifth and the women came in at seventh.
GREENWOOD, Ind. – With the conclusion of spring sports, the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference has released the 2013-14 All-Sports Standings. The DC men finished in fifth and the women came in at seventh.
The men came in fifth this season after strong finishes from several sports. They totaled 47 points scored by 10 different sports.
In the fall, the cross country team started out the 2013-14 sports season out strong with a fifth place finish in the HCAC Meet.
The men saw their best finish from basketball in the winter. The basketball team finished Co-HCAC Champions with a 15-3 conference record.
The men received their most points come in the spring. Tennis finished in fourth place with a 5-3 conference record, while golf and track and field each added a fifth place finish.
The women totaled for 39 points from nine different sports. Two teams even picked up 10 points each when they won the conference title.
Volleyball and soccer got things start in a big way in the fall. Soccer finished fifth in the conference with a record of 3-5-1. Volleyball dominated the conference and finished in first with a perfect 9-0 HCAC record.
In the winter, basketball saw the best finish when it placed sixth with an 8-10 record.
Track and field dominated both in the winter and the spring, winning both HCAC titles. It finished with 10 points and tied volleyball for most points scored.
