Track and Field opens outdoor season at Cedarville University

Cedarville, Ohio - Defiance College track and field opened outdoor season Saturday afternoon at the Yellow Jacket Collegiate Open hosted by Cedarville University. The men finished 13th and the women placed 16th. 

On the men's side, Marlon Brown earned a second place finish in the 400 meter dash with a time of 50.65 seconds. The 4 x 100 relay team of Gavin Maratea, Brown, Isaac Miler, and Ja'Qway Janiver placed sixth with a time of 43.71 seconds.

On the women's side, Lisa-Maria Markau and Shyla Pemberton both ran the 400 meter dash. The 4 x 100 relay team of Markau, Pemberton, Shanti Elkins, and Hailei Haynes placed third with a time of 51.28 seconds.

Track and field returns to action next Saturday at the Grizzly Invite hosted by Franklin College.
