The Yellow Jackets Post Strong Performance at the Tiffin Dragon Open

TIFFIN, OHIO - The Defiance College men's track and field team competed at the Tiffin Dragon Open on Friday evening hosted by Tiffin University.

The Purple and Gold were led in the meet by sophomore Vince Jackson (Mason) with a fifth place finish in the high jump, clearing a height of 1.89 meters.

In the weight throw, senior Javier Castillo (Nogales, Ariz.) finished sixth with a toss of 16.33 meters, while Andrew Fahler claimed an 11th place finish with a throw of 13.89 meters.

Sophomore Gabe Caris (Lambertville, Mich./Bedford) also registered a top ten finish, claiming eighth in the 400-meter dash in a time of 53.01.

As a team, Defiance registered 10 season best and five personal records.

Defiance returns to action on Saturday, January 26 as they host the Defiance College Invitational.
