Yellow Jackets Compete at Anderson
ANDERSON, IND. -- The Defiance College men's track and field team had a trio of athletes represent the Purple and Gold at the Fred Wilt Invitational at Anderson University on Saturday in the first of two last chance meets on the DC schedule.
ANDERSON, IND. -- The Defiance College men's track and field team had a trio of athletes represent the Purple and Gold at the Fred Wilt Invitational at Anderson University on Saturday in the first of two last chance meets on the DC schedule.
A pair of Yellow Jackets came home victorious, as freshman Vince Jackson (Mason) cruised to a victory of 1.86 meters, while senior Joshua Petro (Ocala, Fla./The Villages) used a great toss of 17.51 meters (57 feet, 5 inches) to bring home a win in the men's weight throw.
Also representing the Yellow Jackets on the men's side was junior Javier Castillo (Nogales, Ariz.), who finished in the fourth position in the weight throw with a best throw of 15.61 meters (51 feet, 3 inches).
The Yellow Jackets will have one last chance to improve their marks during the indoor season, and that will come on Saturday, Mar. 3 at the Ohio Northern Universtiy Polar Bear Last Chance Invitational. The meet is set to begin at 9 a.m.
