Men's Tennis Heads South for HCAC Battle
HANOVER, IND. - The Defiance College men's tennis team made the lengthy trip south to pay a visit to Hanover College on Saturday morning. Despite a tough doubles battle, Defiance fell to the Panthers 9-0.
HANOVER, IND. - The Defiance College men's tennis team made the lengthy trip south to pay a visit to Hanover College on Saturday morning. Despite a tough doubles battle, Defiance fell to the Panthers 9-0.
Jared Schnee (Bellevue) and Ring Lardner (Milford, Del. / Milford) gave the Yellow Jackets their best shot at a win. The number one doubles pairing took five games in their battle, falling 8-5.
Ethan Harris (Huntertown, Ind. / Carroll) and Seth Mangas teamed up in number two doubles, dropping their contest 8-1.
On the singles side of action Harris took two games, falling 6-1, 6-1.
Schnee and Micaiah Cox (Ft. Recovery) each won one game in their singles battles, finishing with identical 6-1, 6-0 scorelines.
Defiance falls to 2-11 overall and 0-6 in HCAC play with the defeat to the Panthers.
The Yellow Jackets will return to action Wednesday, April 24, as they travel to Anderson University for the penultimate match of the season. First serve is slated for 4:30 pm.
