DC Falls to RHIT
TERRE HAUTE, IND. – The Defiance College men’s tennis team traveled to Terre Haute, Ind. to face Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference foe Rose-Hulman (Ind.) Institute of Technology and fell to the Fightin’ Engineers by a match score of 9-0.
TERRE HAUTE, IND. – The Defiance College men's tennis team traveled to Terre Haute, Ind. to face Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference foe Rose-Hulman (Ind.) Institute of Technology and fell to the Fightin' Engineers by a match score of 9-0.
The Engineers (14-7, 5-0 HCAC) took an early 3-0 lead over Defiance (6-8, 1-3 HCAC) after sweeping doubles play. The closest doubles match of the day came from the second doubles duo of juniors Tory Savage (Bryan) and Brian Kurtz (Sandusky/Perkins) who battled to an 8-2 decision.
RHIT defeated DC in all six singles matches to secure the 9-0 match victory. Savage had the closest match at the third singles spot, pushing his opponent to a 6-2, 6-2 match score.
The Yellow Jackets will return home to host Anderson (Ind.) University in HCAC play on Wednesday, Apr. 20. The match is set to begin at 4 p.m.
