Moving into singles action, Ross bested Bethel at the number one spot. After falling behind 1-3 in the first set, he won the next five games to claim the set 6-3. The momentum carried him through the second set, where he finish the match 6-1.
Nelson was next to pick up an individual victory, outperforming his competition at three singles with a score of 6-1, 6-2.
While the Pilots grabbed two more points at number five and six singles, Speelman seized sweet revenge at the number two position. After a loss to the same opponent last year, the senior took charge and topped his opponent 6-3, 6-2.
The final Yellow Jacket win of the evening came from Demeo at four singles, who after losing a first set tiebreaker stormed back to win the second set and a third set super tiebreaker, 6-7 (5-7), 6-1, 10-4. Defiance secured the team win with an overall score of 6-3 over Bethel.
