DC’s Demeo records HCAC Player of the Week
GREENWOOD, Ind. – Taking part in his first collegiate competition as a member of the Yellow Jackets men’s tennis team, freshman James Demeo came up with a perfect 4-0 outing in Defiance’s tri-match against Baldwin-Wallace and St. Francis and has been named HCAC Player of the Week.
GREENWOOD, Ind. – Taking part in his first collegiate competition as a member of the Yellow Jackets men's tennis team, freshman James Demeo came up with a perfect 4-0 outing in Defiance's tri-match against Baldwin-Wallace and St. Francis and has been named HCAC Player of the Week.
Playing in fourth singles Demeo (Oregon, Ohio / Clay) recorded a 7-6, 6-2 victory against the BW Yellow Jackets and then notched a 6-4, 6-2 win against the Cougars, as he helped the Purple and Gold beat St. Francis 5-4.
Demeo then teamed up with fellow freshman Tory Savage (Bryan, Ohio / Bryan) to earn a pair of victories in third doubles competition. The duo won its match with BW 8-4 and then topped USF 8-6.
The DC men's tennis squad will next be in action when it travels down to Hilton Head, South Carolina for its spring break trip. The Jackets first match is slated for Sunday, March 9 at 9 a.m. against the Emory & Henry College Wasps.
