Defiance Men’s Tennis Takes Fourth at Trine Tournament
ANGOLA, Ind. – The Yellow Jacket men’s tennis team traveled across the border to Indiana for the Trine Tournament on Friday evening and Saturday.
ANGOLA, Ind. – The Yellow Jacket men's tennis team traveled across the border to Indiana for the Trine Tournament on Friday evening and Saturday. The squad finished fourth in a strong field that included Grace College, Capital University and the hosts Trine University.
All doubles matches took place on Friday, as double's action was played in a round-robin format. Despite some strong efforts, the Purple and Gold doubles teams were overmatched, as the Yellow Jackets were unable to claim a victory.
All of the singles matches were played on Saturday. The singles action was set up as a flighted tournament similar to the Defiance Spring Tourney played in late March.
Defiance did not fare much better in singles play than doubles, as Justin Walker was the only Yellow Jacket to record a victory.
DC returns home on Sunday to host Rose-Hulman in a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference match. The action is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m.
