HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Purple and Gold men's tennis team faced two strong teams at the Spring Break Tennis Fest in South Carolina on Thursday. The Yellow Jackets dropped a pair of results to an NCAA Division II squad in Saint Joseph's and an undefeated Methodist University.
The Yellow Jackets were overmatched by both squads, as the team was without its normal number one singles and two doubles player in Mike Ross.
Defiance lost to both the Pumas and the Monarchs by scores of 9-0 with the Purple and Gold unable to grab a set in either matches.
With the losses, the Yellow Jacket men's tennis team's record falls to 1-5 on the season. The squad wraps up its spring break trip on Friday, as DC plays matches against Marietta and Salve Regina.
