DC Men Drop HCAC Opener to Hanover
DEFIANCE, Ohio – A short-handed DC men’s tennis team suffered an 8-1 loss to Hanover at the Dix Tennis Facility on Saturday.
DEFIANCE, Ohio – A short-handed DC men's tennis team suffered an 8-1 loss to Hanover at the Dix Tennis Facility on Saturday. The match was the 2011 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference opener for the Yellow Jackets.
The Panthers improved to 4-3 overall and 2-1 in the league with the victory, after sweeping through doubles play and taking all but one singles competition. Cord Speelman netted the lone point of the afternoon for Defiance, as the freshman won his first collegiate match at No. 4 singles by a 6-3, 4-6, 10-3 margin.
Defiance dropped to 1-8 with the loss and will look to get back in the win column when it travels to Central State on April 2 at 1:00 pm.
