Draur Nets Second HCAC Weekly Honor
GREENWOOD, Ind. – Will Draur was named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men’s Tennis Player of the Week for the second time this season after going unbeaten in three matches and leading Defiance to a pair of HCAC victories.
GREENWOOD, Ind. – Will Draur was named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the second time this season after going unbeaten in three matches and leading Defiance to a pair of HCAC victories.
Draur went 5-0 at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles during DC's three matches and opened the week by sweeping his two matches in a 5-4 loss at NCAA Division II Notre Dame, before taking a pair of matches in DC's 7-2 win over Mount St. Joseph on Saturday. The Toledo, Ohio, native then won his No. 1 doubles competition in a 5-1 Yellow Jacket victory over Franklin.
Draur is now 20-10 on the year and owns a 9-3 conference record at the top singles and doubles position for Defiance during his sophomore season.
Draur and Defiance (7-9, 5-2 HCAC) will host Findlay on Tuesday at 3:30 pm for the Jackets' final home match of the 2010 season.
