Killam named HCAC Defensive Player of the Week
CARMEL, Ind. - Defiance senior goalkeeper Orry Killam has been named the HCAC men's soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.
Killam played all but 28 seconds in goal during the two games last week and led the Yellow Jackets to a 1-0-1 week to pick up a crucial four points in Defiance's quest to clinch a spot in the HCAC Tournament that begins this Saturday, October 28.
He shut down the Bluffton offense and recorded seven saves in the 1-0 win at rival Bluffton and saved six of seven shots in a 1-1 draw against Transylvania. For the week, that gives him 13 saves in 14 opportunities for a save percentage of 0.93.
The fifth-year senior is also approaching career milestones in both career saves and career minutes played at goalkeeper.
The Yellow Jackets wrap up the regular season Wednesday, October 25 at home at 3:30 p.m. against Mt. St. Joseph on Winsper-Knobel Memorial Field. Defiance can clinch a spot in the conference tournament with a win.
