Brown Wins Inaugural Conference Defensive Honors
GREENWOOD, IND. -- DC senior defender Andrew Brown (Englewood/Northmont) was given the first ever Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week award after his stout efforts in Defiance's opening week of action.
GREENWOOD, IND. -- DC senior defender Andrew Brown (Englewood/Northmont) was given the first ever Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week award after his stout efforts in Defiance's opening week of action.
Brown was the hero of the day on Friday, as his 90th-minute goal propelled the Yellow Jackets to a 2-1 victory over UC-Clermont. Brown also anchored the defense to a 2-0 shutout of Bethany (W.Va.) on Sunday, giving Defiance their first 2-0 start since 2013.
Defiance will look to continue their winning streak on Wednesday, Sept. 6, as Trine (Ind.) comes to town to take on the Yellow Jackets at Winsper-Knobel Memorial Field. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
