Freels named to 3rd All-Academic team with All-Region selection

DEFIANCE, Ohio – Senior Luke Freels was honored with his hard work on and off the field in being named to the 2013 NSCAA College Division Men's Scholar All-East Region Team.

Freels (Ludlow Falls, Ohio / Milton Union) helped lead the Yellow Jackets to a 10-9 record this season.  He played in 73 games throughout his career at Defiance College which is a DC record.

Majoring in criminal justice, Freels has achieved a 3.73 GPA in the classroom.  With his dedication on and off the field, he proved to be a leader for the Yellow Jackets all season.

With being named to the Scholar All-East Region Team, Freels has collected four individual honors in his senior campaign, including three academic awards.
