Arriola, Roberts named to All-Ohio teams
DEFIANCE, Ohio – The men’s soccer team continues to bring in the postseason awards as the Yellow Jackets were able to place two players on the Division III All-Ohio Teams.
DEFIANCE, Ohio – The men's soccer team continues to bring in the postseason awards as the Yellow Jackets were able to place two players on the Division III All-Ohio Teams. Junior Kevin Arriola and senior Sean Roberts were honored. [All-Ohio Teams]
Arriola (New Lebanon, Ohio / Dixie) was placed on the Division III All-Ohio Second Team. The junior scored 10 goals and put up 22 points on the season, which was good for fourth and fifth in the HCAC respectively.
Arriola also ended the season by pushing up his career numbers to 18 goals and 38 points. Those marks put him tied for first and in second on the career list, respectively, with his senior season to go. Arriola was also named to the Second Team All-HCAC.
Roberts (Canal Winchester, Ohio / Canal Winchester) was named to the Division III All-Ohio Third Team. Roberts put up very impressive numbers this year on his way to achieving his accolades. His 1.20 Goals Against Average for the season is best for Defiance College in the history of the program.
Roberts also ended his career with a 1.59 GAA, which is best since Jeff Meyer ended his career with a 1.45 in 2005. Roberts led the HCAC in saves with 84. The senior saved .785 percent of the shots on goal that he faced. Roberts won 10 games this season and 19 games in his career, both tops for DC since Meyer won 14 games in 2003 and 38 in his career. Roberts also was named Co-Defensive Most Valuable Player for the HCAC and named to the First Team All-HCAC.
