ADA, Ohio – The Defiance College men's soccer team wrapped up its final day of the Ohio Northern Tournament with a very disappointing result. The Yellow Jackets lost by a score of 1-0 to Oberlin College.
After obtaining a great result in a tie on Thursday evening against Heidelberg University, DC sputtered this weekend dropping each of the two games at the weekend tournament.
The attacking offense of the Yellow Jackets faltered once again on Saturday, as Oberlin did not allow Defiance to muster even a shot in the first half of play.
Like last evening the DC defense allowed a goal in the early minutes of the game. The goal came from Oberlin's Sam Winward, who made a run into the box and darted past Defiance's keeper before finishing into the back of the net.
The goal ended up being the only one Oberlin would need, as Defiance could not get any type of offense going. Defiance ended the game with only two shots compared to Oberlin's 15. The loss brings DC's record to 1-3-1.
The Yellow Jackets are next in action on Tuesday, September 13 at Trine University. The game will start at 4 p.m.
