Jackets Improve to 3-2-1 with a 1-0 Shutout Over Rochester
ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. – The Yellow Jackets’ defense has been outstanding all season, and finally earned a shutout on Saturday with a 1-0 victory over Rochester College.

ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. – The Yellow Jackets' defense has been outstanding all season, and finally earned a shutout on Saturday with a 1-0 victory over Rochester College. Defiance pulled out the win in double overtime to move to 3-2-1 on the season.
Freshman goalkeeper, Sean Roberts, picked up the first shutout of his collegiate career for Defiance, posting 12 saves through 110 minutes of action. Roberts currently leads all goalkeepers in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference with a .872 save percentage.
Jaiden Henderson broke the scoreless tie with just eight minutes remaining in the second overtime period, when he stole the ball from a Warrior defender and sent it soaring into the net for his second goal of the season. The golden goal by Henderson gave the Jackets their first shutout victory of the year, and put them back above .500 for the season.
The Yellow Jackets will host Great Lakes Christian College on Tuesday, September 21 at 4:00 p.m., before playing in their first conference match on Saturday, September 25, when they host Anderson University (2-4) at 3:00 p.m.
